Nashville's Best Spots for Thrifting & Vintage

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

Whether you're looking for quality winter staples to add to your closet, in search of a unique last-minute gift, or wanting to discover some new thrift and vintage spots, this is the list for you. After finishing all of my finals, I recently treated myself to a day of vintage shopping in Nashville.

(Pro Tip: For those seeking to hit all of these spots in one day, follow the order of this list. Fair warning that it will take at least 6 hours to get through all of these so plan accordingly!)

Nashville Flea Market

Open for one weekend each month, you can find nearly anything from the vendors at the Nashville Flea Market. You could easily spend hours here looking through the unique trinkets available for sale. Most items are pretty reasonably priced, though pricing varies from vendor to vender. Make sure you bring $5 cash for parking (or if you're like me, be prepared to walk 5-10 minutes from the free street parking down the road) and come earlier in the day for the best finds!

Transmigration Vintage

Tucked in the back of a building right on the Cumberland River, Transmigration Vintage is a women owned and operated boutique, featuring a curated selection of vintage clothes, accessories, and shoes. This cozy little shop has reasonably prices sweaters, jackets, pants, and more. But, if you're in the mood to splurge, check out their sick selection of cowboy boots.

Toro

After reading our review of Toro by fellow VFW member, Sofia Lloyd, I knew that I needed to stop by and check it out for myself. With the whole store to myself, I sifted through the beautifully curated shop as their ambient playlist echoed around me. It was by far one of the most calming vintage store experiences I've had to date.

Hip Zipper Vintage

Boasting a large assortment of vintage goods, Hip Zipper Vintage was packed full of interesting finds. One of my favorites was this unique basket (giving major Laini Ozark birken basket vibes, but with a sweet handpainted twist). If you can't make it in person, they also have an online storefront.

Star Struck Vintage

One of the largest stores I visited, Star Struck Vintage had an excellent selection of just about everything. I was particularly impressed by several of their leather outwear items. Just like Hip Zipper, they also have an online store if you don't have a chance to stop by in person.

Anaconda Vintage

A cozy store filled with everything from interesting jackets to belt buckles to playing cards, Anaconda Vintage is definitely a cool spot to check out. And, if you're into music stores, make sure you stop by Grimey's New and Preloved Music which is located right next door!

Backslide Vintage, High Class Hillbilly, & Speakeasy Vintage

This trio is conveniently positioned all next door to each other. Backslide Vintage is the largest of the three and had a particularly killer selection of leather jackets. While High Class Hillbilly is pricey, it's also a fun spot to look at their curated, western-inspired wear. I especially loved their bolo ties and patched up jeans. Last but not least is Speakeasy Vintage (appropriately named as it is completely out of sight when you first pull up). This small shop had everything from unique t-shirts to fully bedazzled vintage gowns.

Horse Girl Vintage

My final stop of the day was Horse Girl Vintage, a small vendor located in a hidden corner inside of a drum store. One of the most reasonably priced spots of all the shops that I visited, you can find just about anything here, from an avocado vest to a rubber chicken handbag. If you don't have a chance to stop by in person, make sure you check out the owner's Depop!
