Artist Biography
With sustainability being at the forefront of her designs, Georgiana is focused on reducing waste and is intrigued by how another's scraps can be repurposed into something beautiful. For this collection, she used only scrap and thrifted fabric while creating each piece. Through strategic pattern design, she was able to maintain efficient use of the limited fabric. In a world where overconsumption is an ongoing issue, Georgiana reminds us of the importance of being creative with resources that would otherwise go to waste.
The Collection
This Fall/Winter womenswear collection, designed by Georgiana Katsingris, draws inspiration from the baroque and romantic eras combined with an expression of modern femininity. Many design elements from these eras, from the rich colors to the ruffles and silhouettes, served as inspiration for her designs. The focus of this collection is to empower women not only to feel beautiful but powerful. Pulling the era's classic silhouettes into a modern interpretation is achieved while celebrating the feminine.
